Situation for Syrians in Denmark after the Fall of the Assad-Regime

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) would like to invite Syrians, professionals, volunteers and other interested parties to two online information meetings about the situation for Syrians in Denmark after the fall of the Assad regime:

  1. Online meeting on January 30, 2025 at 16:00 - 18:00 CET (in Danish with Arabic translation)
  2. Online meeting on February 20, 2025 at 14:30 - 16:00 CET (in Danish without translation)

The uncertain situation after the fall of the Assad regime creates uncertainty and many questions among Syrians in Denmark. The media is reporting in several different directions, and it can be difficult to understand what the current situation will mean for individual Syrians. At this meeting, we will therefore try to create more clarity about the current situation for Syrians in Denmark.

We will give a brief overview of:

  • What the current situation in Syria means for asylum processing in Denmark
  • The rules for permanent residence permits
  • The risk of revocation of residence permits and a review of the rules for this
  • The possibility of returning to Syria with financial support
