Conference on Gender, Intersectionality, and Climate Change (GICC)
The GICC Conference brings together leading scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to explore the complex interlinkages between gender, intersectionality, and climate change. The program’s primary objective is to raise awareness regarding the gender-specific dimensions of climate change, fostering meaningful dialogue among diverse stakeholders and promote evidence-based research in the area, in Pakistan. By highlighting gender-specific considerations within the national climate action policy framework, it seeks to create a forum that encourages active engagement and knowledge exchange.
This conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, paper presentations, and networking sessions. Through this initiative, the aim is to catalyse actionable steps and foster collaborations that pave the way for enhanced climate policies and practices in Pakistan. The project endeavors to facilitate more effective and equitable climate strategies by serving as a platform for sharing insights, research, experiences, and expertise among stakeholders.
Ultimately, this concerted effort aims not only to improve the national approach to climate action but also to make substantive contributions towards the attainment of sustainable development goals, aligning Pakistan’s endeavors with a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
