Global Diaspora Week (GDWeek): 4th Edition
We are excited to announce the 4th Global Diaspora Week (GDWeek), taking place from 21 to 27 January 2025, under the theme: “Global Diaspora, Local Impact: Advancing Systematic Approaches in Development and Humanitarian Efforts.”
A week-long of inspiring events to empower the global diasporas
The GDWeek will ignite the next phase of GDC’s 3S Strategy—Systemize, to build a global ecosystem to support diaspora organizations (DOs). GDWeek will feature the 4th Global Diaspora Assembly, the Annual Humanitarian Meeting, GDWeek activities including Diaspora Training Trove, Introduction to MHPSS and Volunteer Management, and more.
Global Diaspora Tree
The 4th GDWeek also mark the launch of a GDC's new initiative to illustrate and empower our ecosystem building - Global Diaspora Tree (GDTree). The GDTree that aims to foster global interconnectivity will see diaspora organizations nurturing it with hopes and growing it with impacts.
GDC Membership
This year's GDAssembly will also be an important time to announce our first cohort of GDC Members. If any diaspora organizations would like to join GDC Membership (free for Regular and Associate Members) to be considered for this announcement, please apply to us by 15 January 2025 here.
GDWeek Side Activities
Whether you are a member or not, if you are interested in organising planning to organise an activity for your diaspora community during GDWeek, we encourage you to also apply to be GDWeek Side Activities too. Your activities will not only be visible at the global level, more diasporas and partners could also be inspired by your great work.
Global Diaspora Academy (GDAcademy)
As part of our GDWeek Side Events, three featured capacity building virtual events will be organized to support our GDAcademy. Thanks to our partners IOM and DRC, please refer to our Agenda page for more information.
